Jacqueline Elizabeth Mee Goin, age 88, of Brookfield, CT passed away on December 16, 2022, after a long fight with pulmonary fibrosis.

Jackie was born on October 4, 1934, to Evelyn and Jack Mee in the Bronx, NY. She graduated from St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School where she met many lifelong friends. She met her loving husband Ed when he went to see her perform in her senior play in high school.  She attended Belleview Nursing School in New York City for a year while Ed fought in the Korean War.  Shortly after his return after being wounded, Jackie and Ed married in 1953. (Ed always said he married Jackie because he knew she would help him get to heaven.) They recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary, and their marriage has always been a great model of love, patience, and forgiveness to their family and all who knew them.

Jackie’s vocation was always as a wife and mother, and she worked tirelessly to provide a loving home to her six children, Jack, Diane, Debbie, Kerry, Mary Therese, and Elizabeth, whom they raised in Yonkers, NY. Jackie and Ed also opened their home to a foster son, Jose, who they took in to live with the family for several years.

Jackie had a gift for telling stories and at the age of 85 she completed her book, Will He Find Faith on Earth?: Luke 18:8 which she worked on for over seven years.  She wrote the book to help people who might benefit from reading about her personal experiences and the many testimonies shared by people throughout her life.

Jackie was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Murtaugh, her daughter, Kerry Kirk, and her grandson Brian Schiavetti.  She is survived by her loving husband Ed, her children Jack Goin, Diane Ressa, Deborah Dolhon, Mary Staudt, Elizabeth Furber, and their spouses, and her many grandchildren, Michael and Ed Goin, Jennifer Stockburger, Anthony and Stephen Schiavetti, Joseph, Jeff, and Kimberlee Dolhon, Christopher, Kevin, Peter and Kelly Corvino, Marianne and Rosie Staudt, and Kate, Jillian, and Jack Furber.  Jackie was also blessed with nineteen great-grandchildren who gave her much joy.

Jackie left a legacy of love, generosity, and spiritual inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
