Jackie grew up in Mulberry, Florida, and moved to Miami, Florida in high school. She worked many years as a server at the Holiday Inn in Lakeland where she was beloved by a host of regular customers.
After her wedding on August 31, 1964, in Folkston, GA, she enjoyed 55 years of marriage to George Cochran. A resident of Dunnellon, Florida, she always loved get-togethers, especially Thanksgiving, family reunions, and weddings. During the life of the party, Jacqueline enjoyed dancing and socializing with friends and family.
Everyone enjoyed Jackie’s sense of humor and storytelling. She would take a real event in her life and embellish it with hilarious details that would lead to joyous laughter. Family members would beg her to repeat their favorite stories, causing everyone to laugh until their stomachs hurt. A warm and caring person, Jacqueline would greet her loved ones with extra-long hugs and show genuine interest in hearing all about their daily lives. She was an engaging conversationalist and a great listener. A devoted parent, wife, friend, and grandparent, she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
