Chambers, Jacqueline Alice was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 26, 1924 to Alice Phillips Newell and John Newell. She attended Cooley High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and as a drum majorette she led the Hudsons Thanksgiving Day Parade for three years. While attending Cooley she met another student, Arthur Chambers and they later married on September 16, 1944 after his military service. Jacqueline and Arthur enjoyed sixty five years of marriage.A devoted wife and mother of four children she enjoyed golf, bridge games, local clubs and many friends. Jacqueline and Arthur Chambers lived on Grosse Ile, Michigan for fifty two years. She and Arthur participated in the Grosse Ile Boar’s Head Festival since its inception in the early 1979 she opened Lambert-Brow Galleries, a fine furniture store and art gallery in Wyandotte MI. She promoted the work of many area artists. Over the years she and Arthur enjoyed many world travels.A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church serving as Deacon and Elder, Grosse Ile Musicale, and Grosse Ile Book Club. She was a life member of Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club and a member of Desert Forest Golf Club Carefree, AZ where she and Arthur spent many winters.Proceeded in death by son Thomas (Linda Demmer) and survived briefly by husband Arthur, sister Nancy (William) Merten, sons Robert (Christine)and Russell (Kathryn) and daughter Kathrine (Lee Nicholson) Chambers.Grandchildren are Elizabeth Philips, Justin, Christopher and Nicolas Antoniotti, Krista Maiullo, Russell, Jonathon, Alan, John, Joseph and Kelly Chambers.Great grandchildren are Josh, Zackery, Katelyn, Isabella, Sara, Jackson, Avery and Olivia.
