Jacob William Holt was born March 10, 1998, in Englewood, Colorado to James and Penny Hoffman. Jacob and his twin brother Jared Holt were adopted on October 25, 2005, by Trey and Tami Holt, who was blessed with the love of children through adoption. Jacob started his elementary school years in Glenwood Springs and continued through his senior year. After high school, Jacob continued his education through the Job Corp. in Montana to work on a certificate of welding and to get his high school diploma. Jacob enjoyed playing sports; football, baseball, and basketball– golf being his favorite. He did not like watching sports and thought it was a huge waste of time. He loved playing cards, board games, and video games with family and friends. Jacob loved fishing and hunting and enjoyed going to South Dakota with his Dad, both his Grandpas and his “Uncle” Jason. While his Dad and Grandpas were teaching him the finer traditions of pheasant hunting, his “Uncle’ Jason was teaching him questionable lessons. Most people know this type of “Uncle.” Jacob loved the holidays and holiday traditions. He was always very helpful in the kitchen and loved cooking with his Mom and Grandmas. Jacob was always a hard worker even as a teen. He was always on time, and often went early and stayed after if he needed to. Jacob had an amazing work ethic and wanted people to depend on him. He moved to Byers with his oldest brother Nick, who mentored him and was his champion. Jacob started working for Hoffman Weber Construction alongside Nick in 2018. Jacob worked as the project manager for 3 years. Just recently Jacob branched out on his own to work for another company which came with more responsibility. He was an assistant to the driller at Candle Drilling and had just received his CDL permit, which would help him further his growth in the company. Survivors include his Father, Trey Holt, of Glenwood Springs, CO, his Mother, Tami (Mike) Gunkel of Canon City, CO; 3 brothers, Nick (Tami) Hoffman of Byers, CO., Nate Hoffman of Littleton, CO, Jared Holt of Canon City, CO.; 2 sisters, Anna (CJ) Maul of New York, Amber (Kenny) Bailey of Aurora, CO; Grandparents Leroy and Connie French of Canon City, CO, Bonnie Holt of Canon City, CO., Jack Hoffman of Littleton, CO.; Nieces and nephews, Zayden and Sheyenne Hoffman, Alexis, Lillian and Danielle Bailey; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jacob had many friends; he was someone that everyone wanted to have at the party. He was preceded in death by his Grandpa, Bill Holt, Grandma, Marianne Hoffman, and biological father, James Hoffman.
