Jacob Thomas Larrazabal, 19, of Buford, Georgia passed away November 18, 2021 from a brain bleed that resulted from an undiscovered tumor.
He had completed chemo and radiation therapy in May 2021 for Ewing Sarcoma Cancer that was discovered on his spine. His scans were clear and he appeared to be past this horrible disease. In the fall of 2021 Jacob transferred to The University of Georgia from Thomas University. At Thomas University Jacob briefly swam for the varsity swim team before being diagnosed with cancer.
He was a lifelong swimmer with Swim Atlanta where he made so many friendships and was loved by the coaching staff. During his high school years he was dual enrolled and swam his senior year for Buford High School where he earned three school records. He has also been a lifelong Georgia Bulldogs fan so being accepted to attend this year was a great thrill for him.
Jacob is survived by his parents Jose and Lynn Larrazabal; his brother Ryan, sister-in-law Sarah and niece Natalie. In addition he is survived by his sisters Samantha, Alix, and Jenae as well as his brothers Nathaniel, Quentin, and Christopher. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother Maria Flynn, of Lake Helen, Florida as well as several loving aunts and uncles along with so many close friends.
