Jacob was born April 19, 1996, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise, Idaho, to Donald Joseph Schnee and Roxann Marie Metz. He was called “Baby A” since he was the elder of the Schnee twins.  “A” also described his personality type. Jacob was forever trying to be a perfectionist at everything he did, which was reflected in his academics and work life.

Jacob played soccer, baseball, football, and lacrosse. He finally told his parents that what he really wanted to do was be in the band. He figured that while in the band, “at least I wouldn’t be sitting on the sidelines watching other people play.”

Jacob’s musical talents began in the band at Riverglen Junior High School. He selected to play the saxophone, following his mother’s footsteps. He continued his involvement in band at Capital High School, where he developed close friends and experienced many unforgettable moments traveling to band competitions and performing half time shows at football games. In his final year in high school, Jacob was the section leader for the saxophone section. Although his official band instrument was the tenor sax, his true passion was drums (the neighbors probably preferred that he continue his musical career with the saxophone).

Academically, Jacob took a keen interest in the social sciences. He enjoyed history, philosophy, politics and other humanities classes. In conversation, he was well informed, opinionated, and not afraid to vocalize his points of view. He was also an excellent writer. Teachers often used his writing as examples to other writers. As an “A” student, Jacob made Honor Roll, graduated in the top of his class in May of 2014, and was a recipient of the Presidential Academic Achievement Award.

In his work life, Jacob brought the same ethics of performance as he held in school. Jacob worked at Albertson’s Hillcrest store. He was recently promoted from Courtesy Clerk to Deli Clerk.

From the beginning Don and Roxann sensed that their son was truly gifted. Jacob had a kind heart and was a true friend. He was a devoted brother to twin Jessinicole and a loving son. He touched many people in his short 18 years. We only wish he had given himself the opportunity to touch so many more as he found his place in this world.

God bless you Jacob. We will all miss you.
