Jake had Bariatric surgery on February 23, 2016. During recovery days later, he went back in for severe abdominal pain. Jake had to have a second surgery that he was not able to recover from.
Jake wanted to have it all in life. A family, house, and a truck. Even though he was called to Heaven way too early, he was able to accomplished this list. His wife Mary, sons Zachary and Demetri and daughter Alexis were his everything. He loved reading books!! He always told him Mom “This is your favorite, youngest son”. He loved flea markets, garage sales, buying and selling with his family & Mom and Dad. He had an eye for underpriced antiques that he could resale for a profit. Boy Scouts was a big part of Jake’s life as a young man. He belonged to Troop 265 of Galesburg.
Jake is Survived by his Wife: Mary Palmer, Sons: Zachary and Demetri and Daughter: Alexis. Mother and Father: Kathy and Fred Palmer. Sister: Mallette (Kevin) Hendershot-Barnes. Brother: Sage (Kathy) Palmer. Nephew: David (Jessica) Hendershot.
Jake was proactive and set up his family for the uncertain. He had a life insurance policy in place. We found out after he went to Heaven, that he had to have it two years before it would pay out. He has only had the policy for a year. The family’s budget has always been tight and there is no savings at all.
