Jacob Allen Kingbird, 17, “Maka-de-Ginew” which means “Black Eagle”, of the Bullhead Clan and Ponemah, Minnesota, began his spiritual journey on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, from Redby Minnesota. He was born in Bemidji, MN to Meredeth Kingbird, Sr. and Nancy Hardy on April 1, 2000.
Jacob loved to smile! He had a big beautiful bright smile, and along with that smile he loved to laugh and joke around with everyone. He was so very proud of his job and the earnings he worked hard for. Especially being part of the netting crew with his good buddy Deland. We knew when he was found after 4 months, that Deland wouldn’t be far away. Jacob was a very proud and over protective uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was a good cook, good brother, friend, uncle, and son. Jacob would really appreciate all of the efforts that everyone put into the search and rescue. He will be missed, but he knows you will always carry him in your heart.
Family that welcome Jacob to the spirit world are his great grandparents; Eugene and Betty Johnson, Louis Kingbird, Sr., George Nelson and Naomi Cloud, Fred and Sara Kingbird, brother-in-law; Davis Rosebear, Sr., and uncles; Mitch and Steward Johnson.
Jacob is survived by his parents; Nancy Hardy and Meredeth Kingbird, Sr., brothers; Owen Anderson, Meredeth (Ashleigh) Kingbird, Jr., sister; Raven Hardy, grandparents; Elsie (Robert) Rushman, Maxine Hardy, Paul Nelson, and Richard Johnson, great grandmother; Elizabeth Kingbird, uncles; Robert Rushman, Jr., Zachary Rushman, Marshall Kingbird, Dustin Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Cheyenne Kingbird and Brandon Johnson, aunts; Wambadi Hardy, Shannon Hardy, Gina Rushman, Sara Rushman, Crystal Halfred, and Brittany Johnson.
