J. A. C. O. B.

Jacob Aaron Young, 31 of Danville, Indiana, passed away on April 27, 2022 at I.U. Health Indianapolis.

Jacob was born on February 7, 1991 in Indianapolis to Jay Young and Keli Mosley.

From the moment he learned how to spell his name, when asked, he would proudly proclaim, “J. A. C. O. B!” Never did he tell you his name was Jacob; he only spelled it out for you, causing everyone to laugh. At such a young age, he knew how to make people smile. As he grew, his humor greatly increased, and for thirty-one years, our J. A. C. O. B. brought our family tremendous joy, especially to his mom (Keli), dad (Jay), and baby sister (Maeci). On the evening of April 27, 2022, our family’s laughter ceased as we gathered around his bedside and prayed him into Heaven. For now, our pain and sorrow outweigh the joy and hope we each felt just a short time ago. While we’re thankful his physical battle is over, selfishly, we still want him here with us.
Our family knows Jesus. We may not always understand all His ways, but we do trust His sovereignty in all things. He created our Jacob and had a plan designed just for him. In His goodness and mercy, He healed him and, we believe, spared him from future pain. Over the last few months, in separate conversations, Jacob told his mom, sister, and his aunt Sheli that he’d asked Jesus to forgive him of his sins and that if anything happened to him, he knew he’d be in heaven with his Nonnie. God’s Word says in Romans‬ ‭10:9, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” ‬Jesus gave His life for Jacob and loved him enough that He revealed Himself to him in order to provide salvation and eternal life for him. In the midst of our pain, we still know there is no greater gift God could have given to Jacob.
Our family would like to thank you for the countless prayers you’ve spoken on Jacob’s behalf over these last several weeks.
