Jackie Lynne White Killough, 72, of Kannapolis, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Accordius Health of Concord.

Jackie was born February 8, 1950, in Oklahoma City to the late Floyd Keith White and the late Alberta Maxine Ornellis White.  She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald G. Siefferman, Jr.

Jackie graduated from Jesse H. Jones High School in Houston, TX in 1968 and then followed her dream to teach by completing her Masters of Education at University of Houston Clear Lake. Education was always important to her and she instilled this in her daughter, Kara. She taught for over 30 years in Sheldon ISD; her passion being language arts and reading lab. Jackie’s charismatic personality challenged students and fellow teachers to learn, discover, and aspire to be more. She proved that you can learn with laughter, as many colleagues remember her wonderful sense of humor in and outside the classroom. Her laugh still lives on.

Aside from her monumental teaching career, she grew up a competitive bowler and enjoyed participating in leagues with her first husband, Craig R. Killough. After having her only child, she dedicated most of her life to being a good mom, demonstrating the example of a strong, independent woman for her daughter to follow.

Jackie met her second husband, Don, in 1992 and they were two peas in a pod. They enjoyed Mexican food, trips to casinos, and “catching a show” at the movie theater. Theirs was a true love story as they stood by and supported one another through various health tribulations. Jackie shared her strength with those around her and always found comfort in a simple hug. She loved with all her heart and that will never be forgotten.

Kannapolis, NC just became home in October 2021. After the loss of Don earlier that year she loved being near family again and cherished those moments together. Even though Jackie struggled the last few months of her life, she relished in having mid-week dinners with Kara and Alex or seeing a silly movie (normally with her eyes closed).
Survivors include daughter, Kara Elizabeth Killough, and fiance, Alex Barnette, of Midland, NC; sister, Bobbie Wilson and husband, Paul, of League City, TX; sister, Vickie Cutman of Harrisburg, PA; brother, Dennis Yeager of West St. Paul, MN; sister, Sue Wiggins of Indiana; step-daughter, Kimberly Siefferman of San Angelo, TX; step-grandchildren, Royce and Rowan McLemore; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Maggie.
