Jackie “Glenn” Kepley, Jr. passed away on June 26, 2018 in Orange Park, FL. He was born on June 10, 1969 in Hampton, VA to Jackie Glenn Kepley, Sr. and the late Caroline Gillespie Kepley.
Glenn earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music performance with a concentration in percussion from Florida State University and Christopher Newport University. He worked at Old Dominion Opry, was a retail manager at Kangaroo-The Pantry and he worked at Ally Financial.
Glenn was a lovable person who never met a stranger. Wherever he went, he made an instant friend for life. He had a natural gift and extreme passion for music. When Glenn was five years old, he taught himself how to play the piano with both hands. He continued to learn multiple instruments including keyboard, guitar, drums as well as some wind instruments. Then as a teenager, Glenn started writing and recording his own songs. Over the years, he created 6 albums and had copyrights to over 100 songs by using a 4-track recorder, playing every instrument and harmonizing every word himself. His music styles range from Pop Rock, Rhythm and Blues, Alternative and Christian Rock.
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents, Glenn D. and Esther D. Kepley, John E. and Lenora F. Gillespie and cousin, Anna Land.
He is survived by his father, Jackie Glenn Kepley, Sr.; sisters, Elizabeth (Doug) McClain, Nadine (Sam) Mizerany and Donna (Paul) Cannon; nephews, Kyle, Clark and Craig McClain, Kevin Cannon and E.J. Mizerany; nieces, Danielle (J.B.) Bailey, and Melanie (Bryson) Rogers; cousins, Todd and Dean Phelps, Alfred Whitaker and Joey Gauvin; and a host of other family and friends.
