Jackie Dale Cross of Waldron, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family. Jackie was born October 8, 1935 in Eastland, Texas to William Weaver Cross and Meroa Andry Cross. Jackie was 79 years, 4 months and 10 days old.
Jackie served a term in the United States Army. Jackie was a hard worker. He was involved in the construction of the original Scott County Poultry in 1961. After production began in the poultry plant Jackie continued on as an employee and retired after 35 dedicated years from what is now Tyson Foods. He was a rancher enjoyed being on his farm. Jackie was married to the love of his life, Georgianna and together they raised 2 wonderful children. They enjoyed many many years of friendship, love and happiness until Georgianna passed in 2006. Although it was difficult, Jackie continued the family farm and now his children will carry on the tradition.
Jackie leaves behind to cherish his memory, one daughter, Lisa Ann Cross and one son, Mark Edward Cross, both of Waldron, Arkansas, three brothers: Earl Wayne Cross of Dallas, Texas, Edward Lee Cross of Mena, Arkansas and Billy Joe Cross of Y-City, Arkansas. Jackie will be missed by all that knew him and the many whose lives were impacted by him including a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
Jackie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Georgianna Cross, one sister, Mini Pearl Cross and two brothers, Roy Cross and Kenneth Cross.
