Jack Valentine, 90, of Moberly, died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at his home in Columbia. He was born September 6, 1927 in Hallsville, MO to Elmer and Eliza Pearl (Winn) Valentine.

Jack served his country in the U.S. Army as a supply Sergent during the Korean Conflict. He started in the insurance business in 1959, which led him to open Valentine Insurance Agency in the 1960s. He retired around 1998. Jack served on the Moberly City Council and was appointed Mayor of Moberly from 1976 to 1988. He was awarded the “Man of the Year” award by the Moberly Chamber of Commerce.

Jack married Mary K. Bishop on May 17, 1947 in Olathe, KS and she survives of the home. Also surviving are his children; Mark Valentine and wife Joyce of Bradenton, FL, Betsy Valentine Wheeler and husband Tom of Chesterfield, MO and Anne Valentine Smith of Columbia, MO, six grandchildren; Marcus Rodhouse, Emily Rodhouse, Courtney Knowles, Alyssa Schroeder, Hilary Lenzen and Brittany Valentine, nine great-grandchildren; Maxwell, Clara, Brady, Carter, Hayden, Jackson, Ella, Dillon and Reese, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kathryne Anne, a sister, Lucille and two brothers, William and Roy.

Jack was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
