Jack Ray Garcia, age 67, of Monticello, Indiana passed away on October 22, 2018, at the home of his niece, Rondi Wireman, where she cared for him during his final days.

Jack was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on October 26, 1950, the son of Anthony Jackson Garcia and Mae (Martinez) Garcia. Jack graduated from Rensselaer Central High School with the Class of 1969. In 1970, he joined the United States Army where he earned his expert and sharpshooter ratings and the National Defense Service Medal. Jack had been employed with the Indiana State Highway Department where he was an asphalt inspector and for Town and Country Paving as a truck driver. He was a member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church and American Legion Post #29 in Rensselaer. Jack loved to spend time hunting, fishing and camping. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family.

Surviving are his loving children from his first marriage to Christine Coley, son Michael Ray Garcia (fiancee Ronni Mitchum) of Rensselaer, Indiana and daughter Amanda (Daryl) Gann of Wheatfield, Indiana; four grandchildren, Evan, Aubrey and Ethan Garcia and Kobi Gann ; his siblings, Manual Garcia of Fowler, Indiana, Gilbert Garcia, Charlie Garcia and Marie Pack all of Rensselaer, Indiana and Billy Garcia of DeMotte, Indiana and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores “Lola” Arnett and Helen Ernst and two brothers, Anthony “Junior” Garcia and Frank Garcia and his parents, Anthony and Mae Garcia.
