Jack Marion Dodson was born on June 21, 1936 at Arapahoe, Nebraska and entered peacefully into rest at his home in Emmett, Idaho on January 1, 2018.  He was the eighth child of eleven born to Charles and Etta (Warner) Dodson.  Jack began working at the age of 13 for local farmers.  In January of 1954 he entered the United States Army and served 3 years in Germany.  Following his honorable discharge he returned to Nebraska and married Dorothy Hill on August 25, 1957.  They moved to Idaho in March of 1959.  They had six children and later divorced.  After moving to Idaho, Jack worked at a local feed store and at the Horseshoe Bend Sawmill.  In 1966, Jack went to work for the City of Emmett as a heavy equipment operator and shop mechanic.  In 1979 he was appointed Superintendent of Public Works and later received Public Employee of the Year.  He retired from the city in 1998.  In 1987, Jack married the love of his life Mary Ann Martin.  After retirement, they spent their winters in Yuma, Arizona and their summers in Idaho.  They loved to travel and extensively traveled the United States and many foreign countries.
