Jack Marcus 1916-2014 A Danbury legend for almost 100 years came to an end Monday, June 16, 2014. Born on October 24, 1916 at home on Skiff Mountain in Sharon, CT, eighth child of nine to Harry and Anna Sweet Marcus, Jack Marcus died on Monday morning at Danbury Hospital with his children at his side. Jack arrived in Danbury on the train that brought the family dairy herd from Sharon on route to Ridgebury, the original home of Marcus Dairy, where the family settled in 1919. He worked on the family farm, delivered milk with his brother Kal and attended the Miry Brook School, the Main Street School and the old Danbury High School.
