Jack Lee Cox, 85 passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation Center in Gowrie, Iowa. Jack was born July 19, 1936, in Des Moines, IA to Vernice and Bertina (Frenz) Cox. He married Karen (Truman) Polson Cox on April 16, 1987, in Des Moines.

Jack had fond memories growing up at his grandparents and playing sports with all of his uncles. He joined the US Air Force at the age of 17 where he became a Hydraulic Mechanic, flying all over the world to repair planes. He loved the Air Force. He retired from the military in 1974. Jack then worked in manufacturing and at several golf courses. He spent the last 17 years at Woodland Hills taking care of the equipment. Jack loved to golf and he and Karen traveled and camped all over the United States. They also went to Germany and toured Europe with friends. He liked to winter in Texas, making many friends over the years. He golfed with friends there on the course near the campground where he got his hole in one.

Jack is survived by his wife, Karen Polson Cox; 3 children; Karen’s children, Joni Clay, Greg (Rhoda Polson) and Jay Polson; grandchildren Tim Clay, Katy Clay, Jady Polson, Andrew Polson, Ty Polson, Shay Polson, and Alyssa Polson; as well as many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ron Cox and his wife Marsha.
