Jack (Junior) Jones, age 82, passed away December 12, 2014 at the Chariton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where he resided for the past two years.
Jack was born September 8, 1932 at his parent’s home in Lucas, Iowa. He attended grade school in Lucas and graduated from Woodburn High School in May 1952. Following graduation, he was drafted into the Army, entering active duty in May 1953. He served as an infantryman in Korea and was honorably discharged in January 1955. He obtained employment as a dietary aide at the Knoxville VA Hospital and worked there until he retired on disability in 1972. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, watching TV and listening to country music.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Edith and John Jones; his sisters, Roberta Kent, Betty McKinney, Barbara Jones; and his brother, Herbert Jones. He is survived by his brothers, Dick (Mert) Jones of Chariton, Donald (Dixie) Jones of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Gordon (Deanna) Jones of Hewitt, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
