Jack Loucka, beloved husband of Beverly Petri, died at Cape Canaveral Hospital on March 9, 2020 after a battle with pneumonia. He was 85.
Jack was born July 8, 1934 to John and Mildred (nee Handley) Loucka in Bayshore, NY. After serving honorably in the US Navy from 1952 to 1955, he worked for New York Telephone. He married Geraldine “Geri” Shimkus, and they made Long Island their home until moving to Florida in 1999. Jack proudly volunteered with the East Islip Fire Department.
When Geri died in 2001, Jack filled his time volunteering for the Cape Canaveral Hospital Auxiliary. It was there that he met Beverly Petri, and they were married on February 14, 2009. They enjoyed numerous cruises and traveled the country in their RV.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; three daughters: Debra (Steve) Ketcham of Sayville, NY, Jacqueline Scoggin of Orlando, and Ann Marie (Steve) Fix of Sayville, NY; four grandchildren: Justin Ketcham, Kristopher Scoggin, Melinda Fix, and Joshua Fix; five stepchildren: Allan Petri, Cheryl Caldwell, Tom Petri, Jon (Pam) Petri, and David (Karman) Petri; seven step-grandchildren: Benjamin Petri, Alex Petri, Dr. Christopher Meier, Lisa Meier, Max Petri, Sophie Petri, and Robert Petri; five step-great-grandchildren: Harrison Petri, Jameson Petri, Caleb Meier, Claire Meier, and Ryder Visbeck; one brother, Bill Loucka of Manhattan Beach, CA; and one half-brother, Fred Loucka.
