Jack Joseph Babb, 81, faithful Christian and prominent business man of Ringgold, passed away at his home on Monday, June 29, 2009. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Walter W. Babb and Minnie Mitchell Babb, sister Ruth Richardson and brother Herchel Babb. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Kathryn Babb; sons, Steven Babb and wife Linda of Chattanooga, Philip Babb and wife Melissa of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Jason Babb, Jeremy Babb and wife Lisa, Ashley Babb all of Chattanooga, Isabelle Babb and Oliver Babb of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Parker and Jackson Babb; sister, Judy Wood of Carrollton, Georgia; sister-in-law Bonnie Babb of Ringgold; several nieces and nephews also survive. Jack, along with his brother Herchel, founded Babb Lumber Company in Ringgold in 1954 which presently continues as a successful family enterprise.
