Jack Gilfoy 90 of St. James City, FL., and formerly of Clinton passed away at Hope Hospice Care in Cape Coral, FL., on Feb 17, 2013. He was born on June 30, 1922 in Lyford to Henry Raymond and Bonnie L. (Dunn) Gilfoy. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1940. He worked at Model Cleaners for 47 years in Clinton and later become the owner for several years. After retirement, he worked at the Coral Oaks Golf Course for 23 years. He married Elizabeth Ann Manship on May 15, 1943 and she preceded him in death on Oct 15, 1985. He was a member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department from 1953 to 1978. He was a Charter Member of the Clinton Golf Association and helped with the buliding of Matthews Golf Course in 1958.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son Jackie Wayne Gilfoy and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by two sons; Jack (Joyce) Gilfoy and Ray (Liz) Gilfoy, two daughters; Martha (Gary) Vitaniemi and Vicki (Jim) Spendal all of Clinton. A sister Mary Lou Work of Pennsylvania and a sister in law Martha (John) Markello of Illinois. Seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also, a long time companion Peggy Binney.
