Jack Edward Meehan, age 73, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022 at his home in Norwalk, CT after a brief battle with glioblastoma.
Born on April 20, 1949 in Bryn Mawr, PA, Jack was the first of seven children for Joan (Hawthorne) and John (Jack) Meehan. Jack spent his childhood in Floral Park, NY. While in college, he met the love of his life, Frances Henry. The two were married for 53 years and had two children, Christopher and Beth.
Jack and Fran moved to Connecticut in 1972, residing in Southport for almost 50 years, then later moving to East Norwalk. Jack began his professional career in 1969 with New York Bell as a phone installer in Harlem, NY. Jack started his own business, Aztec International, in 1982 and was awarded the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 1994, as well as being recognized as a member of Connecticut’s 40 under 40 in 1998. During his business career, Jack sat and participated in various board of director roles for both private and public companies.
One of his greatest passions was mentoring young professionals and entrepreneurs. Whether through public speaking at universities, trade organizations or meeting young people out at dinner, Jack always found a connection. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing stories and examples of not only how to build and grow a business, but how to foster relationships. To all he met, the mantra was simple, do the right thing.
Jack was predeceased by his parents and his brother Peter. He is survived by his wife Fran, son Chris (Michele Meehan), daughter Beth (Brent Shriver), his two grandchildren Molly and Zack Meehan.
