Jack Daniel Mellon, 90, of Lafayette, passed away at IU Arnett Hospital on June 21, 2022.
Jack was born on June 15, 1932, in Wolcott, IN, to the late Michael and Mary Mellon. He graduated from Chalmers High School in 1950 and Indiana University in 1959.
Jack married Doris Tribbett on May 23, 1954. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2022. Jack is survived by his son, Denny Mellon (Becky); daughter, Kim Emerick; grandchildren Scott Mellon (Jill), Mark Mellon (Nicole), Melissa Hash (Wes), Earl Emerick (Nicole), Sarah Emerick (Eli); and great grandchildren Reece Mellon, Easton Mellon, Palmer Hash, Maddox Mellon, Evan Emerick, McCoy Mellon, Dempsy Hash. He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Emerson Hash; his brothers Bernard Mellon, Charles Mellon, Michael Mellon, Francis Mellon, and his sister Katherine Welborn.
Jack served in the US Army from 1953-1956. He was a Certified Public Accountant and the proprietor of CPA offices in Lafayette and Florida from 1965-2015. He was quite active in the churches he attended in IN and FL, most recently attending West Point United Methodist Church. Jack enjoyed clubs such as Rotary, Kiwanis, and Optimist. He enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, socializing with friends, and time with his family.
