Jack. D. Galloway 87 of Midland died Sunday, August 8, 2010. The son of the late Thomas and Bessie (Morgan) Galloway was born on October 8, 1922 in Gaylord, MI and was raised and educated in Midland, graduating from Midland High School in 1941.

On May 2, 1942 he married the former Helen R. Breuer in Mt Pleasant. Helen predeceased him in 1992. Jack served in the Army during WWII, with duty in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Central Europe and the Ardennes. Jack worked for the Dow Chemical Co, retiring as a construction supervisor, in 1980 after 38 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the American Legion, Berryhill Post #165.

Jack loved spending time with his family at their cottage on Sand Lake. He was an avid golfer and hunter. He enjoyed woodworking and made special pieces for his family to cherish.

Jack is survived by sons, Thomas (Barbara) Galloway of Midland and Frederick (Lynn) Galloway of Essexville; daughter, Mary Lynn (James) Henry of Boulder, CO; brother, Richard Galloway of Ft. Collins, CO.; grandchildren, Chris Henry of Dublin, CA, Jaimee Olsen of Gresham, OR, Michael (Sasha) Henry of Manhattan Beach, CA, Marcy (Mike) Vincent of Bay City, Nicholas (Krysten) of San Diego, CA, Andrew (Nicole) Galloway of Midland,Molly Galloway of Midland and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his daughter, Cynthia Lee Tarver; brothers, Cecil, Keith, Kenneth; and sisters, Helen Marie and Mary Lou.
