John C. “Jack” Calhoun, 92, of Virginia, IL died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville, IL.
He is survived by a daughter, Becky Calhoun Newport of Northfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; a son, Gregg; and a sister, Harriett Virginia.
Mr. Calhoun was a graduate of Oregon State University and served as a first lieutenant with the US Army Air Force during WW II. He was a retired game biologist with the Illinois Department of Conservation. In recent years, Jack devoted countless hours to the development and maintenance of Rexroat Prairie and Cabins in Virginia.
