Jack C. Butler, age 86 years of Niles, Michigan died on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at his home unexpectedly, but of natural causes. He was born February 4, 1928 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Gary & Lucille (Kelsey) Butler.
Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy and enjoyed working a few years with the railroad when his children were younger. He worked many years for Clark Equipment in Buchanan, retiring in 1984. Jack enjoyed vegetable gardening, working on and repairing tractors and machines and completing Sudoku puzzles.
On April 5, 1947 in Saint Joseph, Michigan, Jack married the former Margaret Rogers. She survives with their three daughters, Linda Butler, Cindy (& Don) Nimtz and Becky (& Mark) Stoops, all of Niles; two sons, Max (& Janet) Butler of Glendale, Arizona and Gary M. (& Lisa) Butler of Niles. Also surviving are grandchildren, Tim, Amy, Jenelle, Sarah, Courtney, Gary, Greg and Nichole; step-grandchildren, Leslie, Crystal, Brad and Amanda; 12 great-grandchildren and Jack’s sister, Mary Hendrix of Watervliet, Michigan.
Jack was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and 4 brothers and sisters.
