In the Christmas film, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, the angel Clarence says to George Bailey, “One man’s life touches so many others; when he’s not there it leaves an awfully big hole.” Jack Ford has left an awfully big hole in the lives of those who loved him. Jack Bertram Ford passed away at the age of 62 on November 3, 2020 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He died peacefully at home with loved ones by his side. Jack was born in Hinton, West Virginia on November 18, 1957, and was raised in Smyrna, Georgia, where he graduated from Campbell High School. Jack raised his family in Greenville, South Carolina, where he had his own roofing business and served in the United States Army during the time of the Gulf War. He was very proud to be a soldier. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Janette Ford. His beautiful spirit will be forever missed by his longtime love, Kim Hutchings; daughter Tess Iandiorio, son in law Brady Iandiorio, son Carter Ford, his grandchildren Gaines, Nell, and Wynn Iandiorio, and Ophelia Ford; former wife Lisa Ford; siblings Laura Ford Daniels, brother in law Calvin Daniels, sister Robin Ford Wallace, brother in law Jerry Wallace, and his brother Frank Ford; niece Katie Ford Daniels, nephews Jake Ford Daniels, Clayton Ford, Caston Adams, and Isaac Ford; all his brothers, sisters and “Boss” at Vickery Hardware, and his best friend Allan McInturff. Jack loved all things Bruce Springsteen, Beatles, and crossword puzzles. He was most peaceful when he was spending time at the river or the Gulf of Mexico. He loved to be outdoors. Jack Ford will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, brotherly love, and the size of his heart. Jack had a heart for service. Anything you asked him to do, he did willingly and cheerfully. He truly loved people for who they were. He had such an uplifting, positive spirit that radiated to everyone around him.
