Jack A. Denney Jr., 76, of Edwardsburg, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family at his side Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Jack celebrated the past 76 years of his life as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather.

He always had a way of making you smile and retained his kindness and sense of humor until his passing, and he always lived life to the fullest.

He was very proud of his family; especially his wonderful grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Poppy”.

He was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee, on March 12, 1941, to the late Jack and Mildred (McCloud) Denney Sr.

He moved to Elkhart in 1954 to live with his aunt and uncle, the late Mable and Winifred Dickenson. There he met the love of his life, Suellen Ramsey, whom he married on June 25, 1960, while in the U.S. Army serving with the 82nd Airborne Division “All Americans”.

Suellen survives him at home after 56 wonderful years together.

Also surviving are his children, Robin Denney-Bliss of Edwardsburg and Jeff (Melissa) Denney of Granger; grandchildren Jeffrey, Jacqueline and Cami Denney, Tony and Nick Bliss and Alex and Adam Chalman; great-granddaughter Sarah Swoape; and brothers Robert (Judy) Denny of Elkhart and Mike (Abbie) Dickenson of Austell, Georgia.

Preceding Jack in death were brothers Barry and Benjamin Dickenson, sister JoAnn Losee and granddaughter Miranda Hapner.

A hard worker, Jack retired from Coachmen Industries of Middlebury and went on to work part-time for K-Mart up until his passing.
