J.W. Jowers, age 73, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Candler Hospital, Savannah, Georgia. Mr. Jowers was born on March 23, 1947 in Douglas, Georgia the son of the late Judge Summerall and Ruth Mercer Jowers. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Jowers Carver.
Mr. Jowers was a tobacco warehouse owner/operator of Planters & Growers Tobacco Warehouses in Douglas, GA for 28 years. Upon his retirement, he spent his time raising cattle and working on the farm.
The most important duty to him was loving and taking care of his wife, girls and his grandbabies. There is no doubt when he entered heaven, God said, “Well done my good and faithful servant”.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bernice S. Jowers of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Kim Jowers of Douglas, GA and Jessi Jowers Frost of Douglas, GA; three grandchildren, Kimi Frost, Braelyn Frost and Judge Jowers all of Douglas, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
