J. Richard “Dick” Langkamer, 94, passed away in the Trexler Pavillion of Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem on Thursday March 8, 2012. He was the husband of the late Frieda (Fasching) Langkamer, who died in 1975 and the late Charlotte (Kassner) Langkamer, who died in 1995. Born in Lehighton, he was the youngest and only living child of the late Charles and Emma (Koch) Langkamer. He was a graduate of the former Bethlehem Business College. Dick was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Central Pacific Base Command. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Co. for 39 years retiring in 1980 as a Supervisor in Saucon Production Scheduling, Bethlehem Plant. Dick was a member of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem and a member of the MORA Club. He was a Little League Baseball Coach at North West Little League in the 1960s, Survivors: daughter, Donna M. Henning and her husband Steven of Bethlehem; sons, Richard J. Langkamer and his wife Susan of Birdsboro and Craig C. Langkamer and his wife Vanceen of Bethlehem; Step-daughters, Patricia Apple and her husband Alfred of Doylestown, Kathleen Lumpkin and her husband Robert of Dacula, GA, and Charlotte Buckenmyer and her husband Frederick of Upper Saucon Twp. He was affectionately known to his 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren and many others, as “Pap”.
