J K (Jake) Goins, Sr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born March 16, 1918 in Star City, Arkansas the son of the late William Alexander and Martha Susanne Keahey Goins.He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan, a member of JJ Deer Camp, had retired from J.A. Riggs as a diesel mechanic and had served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Goins died Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock at the age of 90.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betsy Goins and brothers, Jessie Lee, James Edward (Red), Elmer Eldridge (Chick), Homer Travis, Willie Woodrow (Bill), sisters, Ella Mae, Dorothy (Dot) and Mary Elizabeth.
Survivors: Son, J.K. Goins, Jr. and wife Karen of Sheridan;Daughter, Zoe Hines and husband Gary of Sheridan;Grandsons, J.K.
