Rev. J.Eugene V. Pelletier

September 18, 1922 – January 24, 2013

On Thursday, January 24, 2013, the Reverend Eugene J. Pelletier was called to his rest and to the glory of the Resurrection promised by the Lord. He was 90 years old. He had been residing at Mount Carmel Rehabilitation & Nursing Home.
` Father Pelletier was born on September 18, 1922 in Leominster, MA he was the son of Joseph N. and Bernadette V. Pelletier and was ordained a priest on May 30, 1953 by the Most Reverend Matthew F. Brady, D.D., fifth bishop of Manchester at St. Joseph Cathedral. Father Pelletier attended Assumption College, Worcester, MA; the Seminary of Philosophy, Montreal, PQ, Canada; & Saint Mary’s Seminary, Baltimore, MD.
Father Pelletier served as associate pastor at St. Francis Xavier Parish, Nashua; St. Joseph Parish, Berlin; Holy Rosary Parish, Rochester; St. Martin Parish, Somersworth; St. John the Baptist Parish, Manchester. On June 10, 1969 Bishop Ernest J. Primeau, D.D., S.T.D. appointed Father Pelletier pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Center Ossipee where he served until January of 1976, when Bishop Odore J. Gendron, D.D. appointed him pastor of St. Timothy Parish, Bristol. After a period of sick leave, he was appointed pastor of St. Kathryn Parish, Hudson in January of 1981. In May of 1982, he resigned the pastorate for reasons of health and he was then assigned as associate pastor of Holy Rosary Parish in Rochester. In October of 1984, he was appointed pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish, Suncook where he served until his retirement in June of 1993.
Father Pelletier is survived by a sister Theresa Pelletier of Leominster, Sister-in-law Catherine Shoop of GA, a nephew Joseph Pelletier of GA, seven nieces Claire Pelletier, Theresa Snow, Monique Buono, Annette Moffatt all of GA, Bernadette Pizzarelli of NY, Denise Beck of Sterling, and Jacqueline Gancarz of NJ. He was predeceased by a brother Gerard Pelletier of GA, a sister Sr. Claire Pelletier D.H.S. a sister Margaret Hazzard and a brother in law Henry Hazzard.
