J. E. “Junior” Monroe, 78, of Stonewood, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born March 18, 1936 in Clarksburg, the son of the late Joyce Everett Monroe, Sr. and Norma Jean Jones Monroe.

Junior is survived by siblings; Jean A. Sartoris of Spelter, William H. Monroe and wife Jeanie of Bridgeport, Mary K. Brown of Clarksburg, Delmos L. Monroe of New Martisnville, Martin E. Monroe and wife Charlotte of Bridgeport, Darlene McGann of Gahanna, Oh, Joy A. Carder and husband Donnie of Clarksburg, Carolyn R. Kaczorowski and husband Ted of Waterville, OH and numerous nieces and nephews; a special great nephew Cole Kaczorowski; one aunt; Zelma Greynolds and husband Phillip of Cleveland, OH and a special dog, Carly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles “Chatty” Monroe and Gerald Michael Monroe and two brothers-in-law; Sylvester “Sub” Sartoris and John Patrick McGann.

Junior worked as a Salesman for Simpson Trucking for 28 years. He was also employed by Kidd Trucking and Matheny Brothers. He was a United States Veteran having served in the Army. His hobbies included golf, Nascar races, fishing, hunting and traveling.
