J. Douglas Milne, age 72 of Milford, beloved husband of Joyce (Vancini) Milne, passed away peacefully at Yale New Haven Hospital on Sunday, April 4, 2015. Born in Milford on April 17, 1942, he was the son of the late James A. and Marie E. Milne. He graduated from Milford High School and Clark University where he was a four year varsity basketball player and a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He proudly served as a lieutenant in the US Navy, stationed at Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base in Virginia Beach, VA. Doug received his MBA from the University of Connecticut after which he returned to Milford and was employed by the Southern New England Telephone Company in New Haven where he worked for 25 years, retiring as a staff manager in the comptroller’s department.
In addition to his wife, Joyce of 48 years, Doug leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughter Debra Tashlein, her husband Eric and two granddaughters of Orange, son James P. Milne, his wife Nicole and their son JD of Chapel Hill, NC. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Carol Milne, cousins Bette Mae Smith Fritzen, Tingley cousins Jean, Albert and Janet and special friends, Gail and Larry Urban and Albert and Pat Syeles. He was predeceased by his brother, David W. Milne.
