J. C. Youngblood, 85, of Green Forest, AR. passed away February 16, 2012. He was born July 27, 1926 at Oak Grove, AR son of the late Homer Youngblood and Lutie (Johnson) Youngblood. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a SeaBee during WW11. Awarded Naval Commendations include: Asiatic-Pacific Medal (1Bronze Star) and Victory Medal. On April 6, 1946 he was united in marriage to Wanda Faye Cooper. They raised their family on a farm in Carroll County where they operated a dairy and raised hay for a number of years. J.C. will be remembered for his love of raising, running and training coon dogs. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoor sportsman. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Osage Baptist Church. J.C. is survived by his wife, Wanda Youngblood, daughters, Kay Byrd and husband Bud of Osage, Gail Collins and husband Joe of Alpena, sons, Gene Youngblood and wife Debbie of Green Forest,Larry Youngblood and wife Lana of Green Forest, grandchildren, Roger and Ricky Grisham, Kelly Youngblood, Nancy Coffelt, Nicki Writer, Heather Youngblood, John Byrd, Ariel Tittsworth, Burnetta Bauer, Ali Jo Carlson and 20 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents he is also preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Youngblood, Willard Youngblood, sisters, Juanita Rand, Leota Chaney and infant son and daughter.
