Ivor Algernon Grainger, Jr., 47, of Middletown, beloved husband of Leah (Banks) Grainger passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 22nd at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Jamaica Queens, NY, he was the son of Ivor A. Grainger, Sr. and Mamie (Williams) Grainger, both of Queens, NY. Ivor lived in Middletown for eighteen years moving from New York and was employed by Metro North Railroad for twenty years. He was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp. Ivor was a proud New Yorker and a huge sports fan following the New York Yankees, Giants, and Knicks. Ivor loved life and always put his family first. He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and friend. Along with his wife and parents, Ivor is survived by his son, Christopher T. Grainger of Middletown; daughter, Nashaya A. Grainger of Middletown; two brothers, Brandon Grainger and Christian Grainger, both of Queens, NY; two sisters, Yolanda Grainger and Candyce Grainger, both of Queens, NY and a host of extended family and friends.
