Ms. Ivis Yadira Soto, 49, of Elkhart, passed away suddenly at her home following an apparent illness on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 8:34 am. She was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras on June 21, 1970 and was the daughter of the late Tomas and Alicia (Garmendia) Soto.

Surviving are her loving daughters Ivis Andrea and Ireska Valaria Morales, both of Tegucigalpa; sisters Maria and Milagros (Raul) Soto of Tegucigalpa and Concepcion (Wilson) Suyapa and Lourdes (Juan) Soto, both of Port St. Lucie, FL; nephew Raul (Blanca) Garmendia Espina of Elkhart, and a host of loving extended family members and close friends.

Ivis’ life will be celebrated with a gathering of family and friends on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 2-5 pm at Billings Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elkhart. In accordance with the family’s wishes, it is planned that Ivis will be returned to her home country of Honduras so she may be laid to rest there.

Ivis worked as a production specialist in the local RV industry. Her unwavering family loyalty was very obvious through her dedication to her responsibilities and jobs. Her daughters Ivis Andrea and Ireska Valeria, who were the primary recipients of her abundant love and support throughout the years, were the absolute center of Ivis’ universe and she had aspired to being able to bring them to their new home in the United States some day.

She was also generous and kind and would not hesitate to sacrifice something of her own if it meant helping another. She attended the Seventh-day Adventist’s Church and will always be remembered by her beautiful smile and loving laugh.
