Ives L. Pruett, 83, of Bedford, Indiana, passed away April 11, 2018 at IU Health Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana. He was born on November 23, 1934 in Raglesville, Indiana and was the son of Carl and Halcie (Chestnut) Pruett.

Ives attended grade school in Raglesville and graduated in 1952 from Odon High School. He worked at Dearmin and Company Creamery, Vollmer Wholesale Company and McDonald Chevrolet in Washington before going to work at Crane Naval Weapon Support Center in 1962.

Ives was an avid fan of IU Basketball and Indianapolis Colts Football. He enjoyed Square Dancing for 25 years and Round Dancing for 22 years. He was a Round Dance Instructor/Cuer for 17 years and President of the Stone City Square Dance Club of Bedford for 16 years. Ives was a 4 year Past President of the Indiana Dancers Association, Past 4 year Chairman of the Southeast/Southwest Rebel Area of the Indiana Dancer Association, past 5 year member of the Indiana State Square Dance Convention Board, Past President of the Indiana Moose Association with the Pilgrim Degree being bestowed upon him in 1973, Past Governor of the Washington, IN Moose Lodge and 8 year Past Secretary/ Manager of the Moose Lodge in Bicknell, IN.

Surviving are: his wife, Carol; daughters, Debbie Durnil of Washington, IN, and Marsha Grafton of Florida; son, Dennis Pruett of Odon; step-sons, Doug Purk of Springhill, FL and David Purk of Franklin, IN; sister, Norma Walls of Washington, IN; grandchildren, Justin Beasley of Florida, Jake Durnil of Washington, IN, Christi Pinkston of Newburg, IN, Eleanor Sink of Illinois and Ashley Pruett of West Virginia; step-grandchildren, Tyler Purk of Bloomington, Anna Purk, Katie Purk and Sam Purk, all of Franklin, IN and great-grandchildren, A.J. Durnil, Reece Durnil, Payton Beasley, Braylon Beasley, Madelyn Beasley, Quincy Pruett, Demetri LaSure, Amelia Beasley, Violet Smith, Oliver Dodson, Alyssa Pinkston and Alex Pinkston.

Ives was preceded in death by: his parents; three sisters, Virginia Beasley, Nancy Parsons and Sue Chestnut; infant son, Timothy L.; grandsons, Timothy Pruett and Travis Jacob Beasley.
