Iver “Butch” Behrendsen, age 71, of Gilmore City passed away on March 7, 2022 at his home. Iver Eugene Behrendsen, the son of Iver Benjamin and Cecelia (Bradley) Behrendsen, was born on November 9, 1950 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He graduated from Rolfe High School in 1969. Butch furthered his education at the Control Data Institute in Minnesota in computer repair. He operated his own computer repair business before working for Chantland in Humboldt. While working for Chantland, he enjoyed the opportunity to travel the world as a service tech. On May 13, 1978 Butch was united in marriage with Colleen McDevitt in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Butch enjoyed camping, fishing, cooking and hosting an annual party at Lizard Lake during Labor Day Weekend. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and socializing with people. Left to cherish Butch’s memory is his wife of 43 years, Colleen; children, Kelly (Matthew) Sells of Jasper, TX, Kyle Behrendsen of Maple Grove, MN and Craig Behrendsen of Cedar Falls; and sisters, Mary (Ray) Shimon of Pocahontas and Pat Wagner of Creston. He was preceded in death by his parents.
