Iva Viola Marke, 83 of Odin, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family. Iva was born February 7, 1936, the daughter of John Berning and Ethel (Howell) Berning. She married John Marke on June 19, 1954 and he survives her in Odin.
In addition to John Marke her husband of 65 years, she is survived by five children: Collene DeKalb of Odin, Lorrene White of Odin, Sophie McMean and husband Mike of Odin, Jim Marke and wife Pat of Dix, Bill Marke and Diane of Odin; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; one sister: Irma Jean of Junction City; and several nieces and nephews. Iva was preceded in death by her parents John and Ethel Berning, son: Bobby Marke, daughter-in-law: Dena Marke, two sisters: Maxine Wilkerson and Edith Deadmond; and one brother: John Berning. Iva was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sandoval.
She also enjoyed collecting dolls and cook books. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her large family. Family was very important to Iva and she enjoyed spending time with them.
