Iva M. Halm, 77, recently of Louisville, Ohio, formerly of Salem, Ohio, passed away peacefully at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012 following an extended illness at the St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville surrounded by family. Iva was born December 23, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pa.
She was the daughter of the late George and Agnes (MacLachlan) Jensen and was adopted later in life by Mary Jensen. Her husband, Raymond Halm, whom she married November 10, 1956 and raised five children with, preceded her in death February 4, 2002. Iva was a dedicated surgical nurse in Flint, Michigan and Youngstown, Ohio, retiring after 30 years as an occupational health nurse from General Motors Lordstown.
She will be missed by Stephen (Victoria) Halm, Stephanie (Ron) Reagan, Mary Trimm (Rob Barrone), Anne Halm, and Larry (Lisa) Halm. She leaves her grandchildren; Kelly, Lauren, Jen (Jerry), Tim, Cory, Lindsey, Kelsey and Casey. She adored her grandchildren and will be greatly missed during family vacations. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s Memory Care Unit, Louisville, Ohio. The family would like to especially thank Rita Herrera for providing companionship and love to our mother.
