Iva Lou Rogers, 1932-2015
The earth lost an angel on October 25, 2015 — Iva Lou Hellewell Smith Rogers. That’s quite a handle, but in case any of you knew her as one of those names, you would know who she was. She was born March 31, 1932 to Robert Hellewell and Adelia Barlow Hellewell in Paul, Idaho and lived there until she was 12. Her family moved to Jerome, Idaho where she graduated high school. Her first marriage was at age 18, and they moved to San Diego as her husband was in the Navy. They were there 2 years and then moved to Boise. They had 3 children – a blonde (Randy), redhead (Rebecca), and a brunette (Stephanie).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; 4 brothers, Robert, Oscar, Dale, and Forrest Lee; sister, Emily; and grandson, Taylor. She is survived by her children, Randy Smith (Martha), Rebecca Smith (Glen), Stephanie Rarick (Joe), Sherry Holgate, Peggy Gilbert (Wayne), David Rogers (Janet), Kevin Rogers (Cathy), and Tracey Smithee (Paul); 31 grandchildren; 60+ great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Every relationship was treasured by her, whether they be friends or family.
