Mr. Garza died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his home in Belton. Mr. Garza was born October 20, 1935 in Robstown, the son of Sixto and Amalia (Rosales) Garza. He married Maria Aguilar, November 27, 1953 in Corpus Christi. He worked several jobs over the years including, delivering auto parts for J&M Auto Supply in Corpus Christi; gas station manager for Independent Oil Co. in Robstown.

He was a welder for a couple of companies in Corpus Christi, Holland Laturner Industry and Berry Construction also he was the Manufacture Supervisor for ProCol Industries. In 1985 Mr. Garza and his family moved to Belton. He went to work for Artco Bell in Temple and worked there for 16 years. During retirement he enjoyed working for The White Lightning Car Wash in Belton, retiring again in 2007.

Mr. Garza was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was also active with the Guadalupanos & Crucista ministries of Christ the King. Mr. Garza was preceded in death by his son Isaac Garza in 1991.

Survivors include his wife Maria Garza of Belton; son Israel Garza Jr. of Belton, and daughter Santa Isabel Salazar of Belton; eight sisters Dora Aguilar of Dallas, Elsa Garcia of Farmers Branch, Olga Rodriguez of Grand Prairie, Irm Yarmer of Irving, Oralia Sauceda of Red Oak, Mary Benavidez of Pleasant Grove, Guadalupe Medrano and Elida Flores both of Robstown. 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
