Isidro Cavazos
September 14, 1935 – February 28, 2021
Isidro Cavazos Mena was born on 9/14/1935 in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jose and Maria Dolores Cavazos. He was a man full of values, traditions, strength and faith. Through these features he built a beautiful family with his wife, Estefana+ of 68 years, and their 8 children. His purpose in life was to live for his family and God. With his strong determination, he and his family began their journey as migrants. Although difficult and unfamiliar, Isidro never missed an opportunity to lead his family to the church. Once settled in the city of Harlingen, TX, Isidro began utilizing one of his strengths, as welder. Working at Tri-Pak, together with his son George, he supported his family for the rest of his career and retired, not once, but twice. As a master of binding items together, he continually instilled the values of his faith and unity with his family. He and his wife enjoyed their quality time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren playing the famous card game of poker and hosting Bar-B-Ques. Isidro also loved an occasional game at the pool table while supporting his favorite sport of soccer. Mexico! Mexico! Mexico! GOAAAAAAL! Aside from all his day to day priorities, the one he cherished the most was pampering his wife. He enjoyed showering her with global travels and shopping sprees to Dillard’s and after nearly a month, he is now reunited with the love of his life, escorting her to the dance floors of heaven in her beautiful gown. He peacefully entered the gates of heaven at home surrounded by his children.
He is also reunited with his first granddaughter, Georgina Cavazos-Perez, great granddaughter, Maria Paola Rodriguez; his loving parents and siblings, Zenon, Leopoldo, Florentino, Esteban, Ramon, Jose and Jesus Cavazos.
He is survived by his children, Francisca and Gilberto Rodriguez, Johnny and Margaret Cavazos, George and Ruby Cavazos, Melva and Israel Juarez, Adrian and Andrea Cavazos, Patty and Sergio+ Portales, Julio and Tencha Cavazos and Chris and Daniel Castillo, who in return dedicated their lives in caring for their parents. He is also survived by his siblings, Cesar Cavazos, Chicago, Ruben Cavazos Sr., Harlingen and Dyla Rodriguez Cavazos, Houston; and 23 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren.
