Patrick Thomas Bly, 55, of Odenton, Maryland, passed away gracefully Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Hospice of the Chesapeake after a two-year battle with esophageal cancer. He was born September 16, 1962, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to Thomas and Marion Bly. Patrick enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1982, and served in the Intelligence community. On March 24, 1984, he married Renee Marie Hocko in Wilkes-Barre. Patrick served honorably for sixteen years in the Navy with tours on the USS Peleliu, USS Theodore Roosevelt, USS George Washington, Naval Special Warfare Group Two, and the Pentagon.
Upon being diagnosed with lung cancer in 1996, Patrick medically retired from the Navy at the rank of Senior Chief, but continued his career of service within the Department of Defense.
