Isael Jose Salinas, 83, of Belton passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Saturday, July 3, 2021.

Isael was born on December 9, 1937 in Mathis, Texas to Estanislado and Ramonita (Perez) Salinas. He was raised in Mathis and attended school there. Mr. Salinas married Concha (Lopez) Salinas on September 14, 1955 in Waxahachie, Texas and they were married for over 65 years before her passing in October of 2020. Isael and Concha moved to Belton in 1972 where he began working for RW McKinney & James Company, and soon after for Odell Geer Construction where he was a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2000 after 32 years. Isael was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Belton.

Mr. Salinas was preceded in death by his wife Concha; son Jose Luis Salinas; great-grandson Jacob Cadena, and great-granddaughter Claire Hernandez. He is survived by daughter Carmen (Antonio) Gutierrez of Georgetown; son Isael (Liz) Salinas of La Marque; son Eulalio (Maggie) Salinas of Belton; daughter Nieves Mendoza (Alex) of Belton; daughter Senaida Salinas of Belton; son Alfredo (Janie) Salinas of Temple; daughter Elvira (Johnny) Hernandez of Temple, and son Lucio Salinas of Temple. Also surviving is a brother Isidro Salinas of Mathis and a sister Maria Salas of Abilene, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
