Isabella (Izzy) Chirdon, 92, formerly of Log Run Road, died Sunday, May 30, 2010 in Franklin Mass.

Izzy’s husband, Paul F. Chirdon, died in June 1981.

Izzy was a long time member of Covenant Central Presbyterian Church where she was a very active member, serving as a trustee, elder, deacon, a member of Women’s Circle and sang in their choir.

Izzy worked as a banquet waitress at the former Lycoming Hotel. During World War II she had worked in a parachute factor and had been a telephone operator.

Born Jan. 27, 1918 in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of Alexander and Margaret Chisnall Maltezos.

Surviving are a son, Paul F. (Paddi), Jr. of Portland, OR; daughter, Gail P. Chirdon of Franklin, MA; brother, Stamos (Ilka) Maltezos of Tacoma, WA; sister, Margaret (Pudge) Krick of Glen Ellyn, IL; grandchildren, Katie, Emilee and Michelle; great grandchildren, Savannah, Alexa and Ava Grace; a close family friend, Doris Klobe of Williamsport and Bella, her beloved pet dog.

Izzy was predeceased by her husband, Paul F. Sr., and a baby brother Paul and brothers; Alex and George, a sister, Cleo and a long time companion Craig (Larry) Wheeland.
