Isaac W. ”Ike” Orr, 90, Anderson, died August 17, 2005 at Community Hospital, Anderson after a brief illness.
He was born January 31, 1915 in Harrisburg, Illinois, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived most of his life in Anderson. He retired from Container Corporation as a supervisor after 42 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 94th Infantry Division where he was awarded the Silver Star Medal in 1945. He was a member of St. Matthews United Methodist Church and a member of Mount Moriah Masonic Lodge #77 F. & A.M., where he was awarded his 50 year pin on January 10, 2000. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, Madison County Scottish Rite Club and the Order of Eastern Star. He was a 60 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #174.
He is survived by his nephew Mike Orr, nieces Eleanor Tucker and Mary Johnson from Orlando, Florida, Debbie Ligatti from Richmond, Virginia and cousins Dorothy Young, John Cross and Wilma Kendzior from Oklahoma. Also surviving are several special friends. The family would like to give special thanks to Susie Rhule, Stephanie Allen and the staff of Community Hospital for their dedicated care. A special thanks also goes to Mike Lacey and Fonda Mollins for being more than an attorney and being true friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years: Eunice M. Hendren Orr. His parents: William and Eleanor Orr. Brother: John Orr.
