It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Isaac Smith 78, of Georgia, formerly of Eutawville, SC who transitioned on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Piedmont Heart Institute Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Isaac “Harry Lee” Smith Life Reflections

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.” Psalms 27:4 KJV
Isaac “Harry Lee” Smith was born with an assignment from God on May 6, 1945, in Eutawville, SC to the late, Sinclair Smith, Sr. and Floreen Smalls-Smith. He completed his assignment and enter into eternal rest on August 8, 2023, at the age of 78 at the Piedmont Heart Institute, Atlanta, GA.
Harry Lee received his education in South Carolina where he learned the basic principles of life. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized and became a member of First Baptist Church, Vance, SC.
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Genesis 2:24 KJV
Harry Lee married in holy matrimony to Mae Lize Clark-Smith on March 6, 1965. From their union, they had two children together, Deborah “Debbie” Elaine Smith, and Tracy Delinda Smith.

When Harry Lee migrated to New York, he joined First Baptist Church, New York City, NY. He worked faithfully in the Master’s Vineyard under five pastoral leaderships, Rev. Benjamin F. Palmer (Founder), Rev. Samuel Felder, Rev. Cooke, Rev. Abraham Fuller, and Rev. Samuel Palmer. He was appointed as a Trustee. Later, he was ordained as a Deacon. He also sang on the Gospel Chorus and the Male Chorus.
When Harry Lee relocated to Georgia in March 1996 he attended faithfully, Faith Christian Center Church, Austell, GA under the pastoral leadership of Senior Pastor, Kerrick A. R. Butler II. Harry Lee rooted himself in daily devotion with God comprised of scriptures and prayer. During the pandemic, so he could continue to have his ear to the throne of God, he pivoted to morning worship experience via a conference call line with his home church, First Baptist Church, Vance, SC. He always maintained his hope in God no matter of his circumstances because he understood that when life changes, God never does. He also, was persistent in tithing and gave offerings to his church as instructed in Malachi 3:10.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.“ Proverbs 22:6 KJV
Under Harry Lee’s parental guidance, he imparted priceless pearls of wisdom into his children. He taught his children to love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Also, to be fiscally responsible, and accountable for their actions. He nurtured his children to be independent and self-sufficient. He never gave them a fish because he knew they would only eat for a day, but under his tutelage he taught them how to fish, so they would eat for a lifetime.
“But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” 1 Timothy 5:8 KJV
Harry Lee always possessed a strong, work ethic.
Harry Lee was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching football, basketball, and baseball. He was loyal and had his favorite teams: Pittsburgh Steelers football team, New York Knicks basketball team, and New York Yankees baseball team. He followed their scores, stats, season schedule, news and the franchise history. He also enjoyed watching boxing matches, wrestling, and westerns.
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8 KJV
Harry Lee leaves to cherish his loving memories to his wife: Mae Lize Clark-Smith, Bronx, NY; his loving children: Deborah “Debbie” Elaine Smith x’s2, Harlem, NY, and Tracy Delinda Smith, Bronx, NY; adopted son-nephew: Sean Anthony Lewis, Powder Springs, GA; adopted grandson-great-nephew: Sean John Lewis, Southfield, MI; his siblings: Dorothy (Dot) Smith-McCants, Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg, SC, Margret Smith-Lewis, Swansea, SC, Beverly “Betty” Smith-Little, High Point, NC, Roland “Rol” Smith, Sr., Brooklyn, NY, and Dorlene “Dorl” Smith-Armstrong (Anthony, Sr.) of Bronx, NY; four sisters-in-law: Hazel Murray-Smith-Simmons, Mary Lee Clark-Gadson, Elsie Clark-Palmer (Rev. Samuel), Edna Bradley-Clark; three brothers-in-law: Elmer Jackson, Archie Lee Barnes, and Fred Harris; five godchildren: China Vaillant, Cynthia Marie Palmer, Gregory Palmer, Sr., Robert Melvin Termine Bailey Gilliard, and Aaron Johnson; and a host of special nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends, and associates that will miss him tremendously.
Harry Lee was preceded in death by his father, Sinclair Smith, Sr. and mother, Floreen Smalls-Smith; one sister: Patricia Ann (Mitt) Smith-Jackson; three brothers: Sinclair “Bubba” Smith, Jr., James Wesley “Rev.” Smith, and William “Darby” Smith; paternal grandparents: Isaac J. Smith “I. J.” and Carrie Fuller-Smith “Hunn Smith”; and maternal grandparents: William Smalls, Sr. “Sun Smalls”, and Pearl Smalls (1st wife), and Minnie Davis-Smalls (2nd wife); father-in-law and mother-in-law: Raymond Clark and Lottie Capers-Clark; two sisters-in-law: Margo Taylor-Smith, and Flonita Clark; five brothers-in-law: John L. “Mewt” Lewis, Rainey McCants, Walter Little, Walter Clark, Sr., and Loman Clark, Sr.
