DAWSONDURHAM Mr. Irving T. Dawson, 91, of Durham, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 31, . Dawson was born in Sampson County to the late Thaddeus B. Dawson and Hattie Bell Tew Dawson. He retired from the American Tobacco Company after 35 years. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church, the Steadfast/ Bruce Little Sunday School Class and served as a Deacon. He was a lifetime member of the Bethesda Ruritan Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Johnson Dawson, two brothers, Bill and Doyle Dawson and a sister, Loretha is survived by his son, Boyd Dawson of Durham; daughter, Brenda Carpenter (Gray) of Durham; one brother, Virgil Dawson of Greensboro; one sister, Lessie Williford of Greensboro; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
